The NDIS aims to make access decisions within 21 days of receiving your complete application. However, this can take longer if additional information is needed. The planning meeting is usually scheduled within 28 days of your access decision, and you'll receive your plan within 28 days of the planning meeting.

Yes, you have choice and control over who provides your supports. You can choose registered NDIS providers or, if you're self-managing or plan-managing, you may also use non-registered providers. It's important to ensure any provider you choose can deliver quality, safe supports.

You have several options if you disagree with your plan. You can request a plan review, ask for an internal review of the decision, or apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) for an external review. It's often helpful to discuss your concerns with your Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator first.

NDIS plans are typically reviewed every 12 months, though this can vary. You can also request an earlier review if your circumstances change significantly. The NDIA will contact you before your plan expires to schedule a review meeting.

With plan management, a registered plan manager handles the financial administration of your NDIS funding, pays providers, and manages budgets. With self-management, you take full responsibility for managing your funding, including paying providers and keeping records. Plan management offers more provider choice while reducing administrative burden.
